YB1 brothers,
YB1 along with a number of other historical organizations are the primary sponsors of this dedication and it should be widely known that its members are invited and encouraged to attend. Mountain Charlie will be providing a barbecue after the event. The barbeque is a free event to invited members which of course includes all ECV redshirts. We expect over 200 people to be in attendance, and we are hoping for a good showing of ECV redshirts. The dedication ceremony will commence at 11:00 AM and will be over by 12:00. Claire Britton will be the keynote speaker and will tell the story of the Jenny Lind. Invited guests will then move up the levee to the South Bay Yacht Club where the free to all ECV redshirts barbeque will be held. Souvenir ribbons will be provided to all invited guests. The dedication will be held at the Alviso Marina County Park. Kindly place this plaque/monument dedication on your YB1 calendar as it is a very important event recognizing the disaster of a vessel that plied the waters on its daily run between the Port of Alviso, and the Port of San Francisco in which nearly fifty souls lost their lives in 1853. Please get the word out to all YB1 brothers!
